We will begin our journey at 9:00 AM. The canyon is located 100 km west of Tbilisi. In 2022, a 240-meter glass bridge was opened here, hanging at a height of 180 meters. At the center of this grand structure is a diamond-shaped observation platform, offering breathtaking views of the Tsalka Canyon. The main attraction of the canyon is the waterfall cascade, known as the "Weeping Wall." A 1.5 km trail will lead us down to the waterfalls (a 30-45 minute easy mountain walk. It will be slightly more difficult to climb back up).
Afterward, the trail will continue along the mountain river Khrami. Comfortable and sturdy footwear will be helpful for the hike.
After enjoying the nature of Dashbashi, we will return to our car and continue exploring the beauty of Javakheti. We will drive along Tsalka Lake and Paravani Lake, the largest high-altitude lake in Georgia. Due to the harsh winters and frequent winds, the plains of Javakheti can feel inhospitable. However, the hearts of the people living in this region are full of warmth and hospitality. We will stop at the Poka Monastery, where St. Nino, the baptizer of Georgia, spent the night on her way to Mtskheta. The nuns of the Poka Monastery make their own chocolate, cheeses, jams, liqueurs, tinctures, honey, bread, candles, and other souvenirs and sweets, which you can enjoy on the road and bring home as gifts.
